a Source of epiphanies

We often find ourselves seeing the world differently during a one-on-one meeting, with relaxed conversation and some sensory stimulation via scent and taste.

New directions pondered, insight gained, energy renewed, interpersonal connections strengthened … all of that can be catalyzed by casual social encounters.

Gateways appear

We are sometimes presented with alternative paths.

They might be unexpected, unexplored. Depending on past journeys, those paths may seem alluring or foreboding … or perhaps both.

They present a way of moving out of the present circumstances and on to the next adventure.

The challenge is in making the right choice.

Channeling someone else

We spun plumb, sidelong and on an incline. We rolled, yawed and plummeted, supine. Our bodies, in mock rockets, through airy billows, passed green volutions of oak and willow … a burlesque of a gesture, a feigning of death; foolish, laughing our lungs empty of breath … then returning to turnstiles, awaiting release of the safety bar and a quiet place.
